Valencia CF history
The club from the coastal Spanish history has a long and proud history. This 2019-20 season Valencia CF will be celebrating their centenary as the team was founded in 1919. Ever since 1923 all Valencia home games have been played at their iconic stadium the Mestalla. This 50,000-seater stadium has hosted some memorable matches over the years, including some Football World Cup matches in 1982. Now, Valencia are working on a new stadium which will be called the New Mestalla (Nou Mestalla) and will have an increased seating capacity of 61,500.
Valencia Club de Fútbol has won six La Liga titles, most recently coming in 2004. They are the last team out of Spain's Top Three (Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid) to have won the La Liga title. Valencia have also won seven Copa del Rey titles, one UEFA Cup, one Cup Winner's Cup and two European Super Cups. They also managed to reach two consecutive Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001.
