Swimming – a sport of strategy, focus, and endurance
Mere split seconds often determine the difference between receiving the gold medal when it comes to swimming, as the best swimmers worldwide butt heads and show their best skills in the water. Swimming features a variety of categories in which women and men compete separately. Restricting to one kind of stroke are the races Butterfly and Breaststroke, while Freestyle allows the swimmers to go for their own choice of stroke (though most opt for the fastest stroke, the Crawl). In total there are thirty-five swimming events to choose from, in which the various athletes show their skills. One of these skills, for example, is the ability to swim 50 metres in roughly 20 seconds, but such results can only be achieved when the swimmer is focused and keeps track of their cardio, so they do not run out of energy on the last important strokes of the finishing lap. Tactics are equally important to make sure they advance as far as possible without running out of energy for the tournaments to come. With world records broken in various other games in the past, for example in London in 2012, and in Rio in 2016, there is a good chance to see history being written – and with tickets for the Tokyo Games in summer 2021: Swimming from StubHub you get to see it all live. Visiting such an event is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for most, but if you simply cannot attend anymore, there is no reason why you should lose money too. If you happen to have tickets but cannot use them, put them on StubHub for sale.
A sport that has stood the test of time
In this year’s Games, plenty of new disciplines make their debut, but swimming is certainly not one of them. The sport as part of the Games dates back to the early 20th century, when a pool was first used in the 1908 games. Having stood the test of time, you will not be disappointed with tickets for the 2021 Games in Tokyo: Swimming. Fans of the sport can also check out the other water-related events we feature, including NCAA Swimming, Sailing and Tokyo Games 2021: Surfing.
