Texas Rangers History
The Rangers were founded in 1961 as the Washington Senators then, in 1971, the Senators moved to Texas and debuted as the Texas Rangers. The team has had two distinct periods of success: the late 90s, when they won three American League West titles (1996, 1998 and 1999), then from 2010 onwards where they have added a further four titles to their trophy cabinet (2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016). The Texas Rangers have had numerous star players play for them, including Nolan Ryan, Ferguson Jenkins, Adrián Beltré and Ivan Rodriguez.

The Texas Rangers play their home games at the 48,114 seater Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. First opened in 1994 it was built as a replacement for the nearby Arlington Stadium. Consisting of nostalgic architecture, Globe Life Park has a distinctive retro-feel and contains certain features that act as tributes to other baseball stadiums. Due to the often intense heat in Texas during the baseball season, the Rangers are currently building a new stadium with a retractable roof and hope to move in by 2021.
