Are you a fan of rugby league? If yes, then don't miss out on your chance to get Kiwis tickets here at StubHub. The New Zealand Kiwis are the second oldest national rugby league side, after England, and are one of only three sides to have won the Rugby League World Cup. Like the team's famous cousins, the All Blacks, the Kiwis traditionally play in a predominantly black kit and, also like the All Blacks, the team perform a Haka before every match. The Kiwis compete in numerous tournaments every year. Every four years there is the coveted Rugby League World Cup (RLWC), every two years the English, Australian and New Zealand teams compete in the four nations which also includes a fourth nation that qualifies via regional competition. There is also the historic Baskerville Shield which, named in honour of Albert Henry Baskerville who organised the first ever tour by New Zealand of Great Britain, sees the two countries contest a test series. So far, the Kiwis are yet to get their hands on this trophy. However, with tours coming up in 2018 and 2019, there is still plenty of time for that to change. So, what are you waiting for? New Zealand National Rugby League Team greatest moments
For a side with such a long history, the New Zealand National Rugby League Team was founded in 1907, there is one moment in particular that stands out for fans. We are talking, of course, about the Kiwis' famous World Cup victory in 2008. The Kiwis played the final against bitter rivals Australia (the Kangaroos), who are, by far, the most successful national rugby league team in the world, and surprised the World Cup hosts, and the rest of the world, by winning 34-20. The fact that Australia were the favourites and were playing in their tenth consecutive final, made the victory even more special. In fact, the Kiwis World Cup win in 2008 has been called one of the biggest rugby league upsets of all time.
Other New Zealand National Rugby League Team great moments include their record 74-0 win over Tonga in 1999 and their Four Nations triumphs in 2010 and, most recently, in 2014. In both of these wins the Kiwis defeated Australia in the final.
