From The X Factor to Steve Aoki
Born in the English town of Doncaster in 1991, Louis Tomlinson first caught attention when he applied for the 2010 series of "The X Factor UK" as a solo artist. He was subsequently put together with Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik to form One Direction. Although the boyband only finished third on the British talent show, they soon eclipsed the success of every other contestant, topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and staging numerous money-spinning world tours. Tomlinson also proved his talents extended beyond his vocal abilities by co-writing several of the group’s hits, including "Story of My Life", "Steal My Girl", and "Night Changes". After six years of phenomenal success, One Direction decided to call it a day in 2016. Tomlinson wasted little time in launching a solo career, releasing a collaboration with superstar DJ Steve Aoki later that same year. In 2018, he brought things full circle by taking on a judging role on "The X Factor UK", alongside Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams, and Ayda Field. A more mature songwriter and performer
Having previously had to share the spotlight with four other pop singers, Louis Tomlinson grabbed the opportunity to take centre stage when he headed out on his own first headlining tour in 2020. Alongside several dates in both the UK and US, the pin-up also headed for South America, Asia, and Europe on a lengthy trek to support his debut solo LP, ‘Walls’. Fans could look forward to hearing all of its highlights including singles "Two Of Us", "Kill My Mind", "We Made It", and "Don’t Let It Break Your Heart", alongside solo versions of his collaborations with Steve Aoki ("Just Hold On") and Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals ("Back to You"). Largely eschewing the pure pop of his One Direction days, Tomlinson’s solo material encompasses everything from EDM to Britpop, and his live show also reflects that the star has matured as both a songwriter and performer.
