Jackson Browne music
Jackson Browne, in his long musical career, has released fourteen studio albums to date. His self-titled debut album, Jackson Browne, was released in 1972 spawning the Top Ten hit single "Doctor My Eyes." Shortly after "Doctor My Eyes" reached its peak position, "Take It Easy," a song Browne co-wrote with Glenn Frey, became the Eagles' breakthrough hit. Many songs from his debut, including "Rock Me on the Water" and "Jamaica Say You Will," became singer/songwriter standards. Browne's big breakthrough came later, however. His 1976 album The Pretender, released after the death of his first wife, went into the US top 10 and went platinum the following year. A huge Jackson Browne tour followed, during which he wrote a new album - Running on Empty. This album did even better than The Pretender, peaking at number three and including the Jackson Browne songs "Running on Empty" and "Stay/The Load-Out". Browsing Jackson Browne's impressive repertoire of singles and albums makes it clear why he is considered one of the most important singer/songwriters of the 1970s and, to this day, many of his songs like "Doctor My Eyes", "You Love the Thunder" and "Somebody's Baby" remain rock classics.
