Fatboy Slim background
Born Quentin Leo Cook in Brighton 1963, he performed in numerous groups, including Pizzaman, the Housemartins, Freak Power and Beats International, before deciding to focus on his solo career under the moniker Fatboy Slim. He quickly became a household name in the UK and also well-known abroad thanks to a series of classic records and remixes that he released in the late '90s and early '00s. Preceding and ultimately pioneering what has since become known as the big beat genre, iconic Fatboy Slim songs such as "Praise You", "Weapon Of Choice" and "Rockafeller Skank" were accompanied by equally popular music videos, while legendary shows such as the epic 2002 Brighton Beach concert attended by over 250,000 ravers cemented his status as one of the most admired and respected DJs anywhere in the world.
Cook has performed at some of the most iconic events in the world. In 2012, he performed at the Closing Ceremony of the Games in London and, of course, we can't forget his free open-air concerts in Brighton. He has also performed at Glastonbury, V Festival, Ultra Music Festival. Most surprisingly was when he was invited in 2013 to play at the House of Commons in Westminster, London.
