Background to one of the greatest American rock bands
Formed in 1971, the Eagles have become giants in the rock and roll world, with their album Hotel California ranking thirty-seventh in Rolling Stone’s “Five Hundred Greatest Albums of All Time”, it’s fairly certain you’ll be on to something special when you see these guys perform! Hailing from Los Angeles, the Eagles began when session musicians Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon all met and joined to play for Linda Ronstadt, during her summer tour in 1971!
The first Eagles album, released in seventy-two, became a breakthrough success, with the band having brought out three top forty singles. Suffice to say, it was this album that opened up that southern Californian rock sound. The Eagles quickly got to work in recording a follow-up album, and decided to release an at the time, daring concept album! Based on the Dalton gang and the Old West, Desperado placed comparisons among the lifestyles of Old West outlaws to the lifestyles of modern day rock stars! Huge success followed but, despite the stellar success, the Eagles suffered a terrible blow when founding member Randy Meisner abruptly left the band at the end of 1977. The band then replaced him with now long-standing member, Timothy B. Schmit!
Join Glen Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon (Who has indeed returned!) and Timothy B. Schmit as they take you through all of the Eagles great classics! Following the success of their History of the Eagles documentary, there’s no better time than now to witness this amazing band!
