All about Behemoth
The Polish metalheads have been around since the early 1990s, when lead vocalist and guitarist Nergal founding the band. Similarly to other metal bands - for example, Cradle Of Filth -, Behemoth's lineup has seen many shifts and currently features Nergal, drummer Inferno, bassist Orion and guitarist Seth. Making their debut with the traditional black metal album Sventevith - Storming Near the Baltic (1992), the legends were received with almost instant acclaim. Indeed, this was just the start of a prolific career, which now boasts ten studio albums, two compilation albums, and two live albums, among other releases.
It was through touring with megabands like Morbid Angel, Nile, Satyricon and Deicide that Behemoth expanded their fandom to other countries outside of Poland. The stars saw the touring bear fruits when releasing their seventh studio album Demigod (2004), seeing as it topped charts in Europe and the US. Their distinctive style includes middle-eastern influences and a fast-beat tempo, and through time has seen the group shift towards thrash metal. With vocalist Nergal having survived a serious diagnosis of Leukemia, the singer is more determined than ever to put on a good show.
